Southern Italy - A Rick Steves Tour

Day 3 @ Tivoli
It was a short bus ride out of Rome to Tivoli, Emperor Hadrian obviously knew this dynamic location above the great Roman city. The ruins perched on the hillside provided magnificent views and the sprawling complex must have been an incredible sight during the Emperor's day. There would be no doubt who was in charge!

Swim anyone?
This really was the swimming pool. The Emperor sure knew how to live.
Massive complex!
The size of these structures are not well represented in the photos - I should have had someone stand in the photo for reference.

What a view!
This really shows the view and the extensive grounds Emperor Hadrian enjoyed.
After spending the morning imagining what it would be like to live in such a beautiful location, we're back on the bus to head to the Adriatic Sea.
